- Our foundries produce products that last for generations. When properly installed, ductile iron pipe can be used for more than a century, reducing energy consumption and costs during its long, useful life.
- Our products are made from post-consumer materials and are recyclable at the end of their useful life. We recycle more than 750,000 tons of scrap iron each year — keeping it out of landfills and turning it into purposeful products that improve lives.
- The performance of our iron pipe and fittings is also environmentally sound:
- It takes less energy to pump water through ductile iron pipe, due to its larger inside diameter (compared to substitute materials).
- All waste waters are treated on-site before release.
- Spent foundry sand is recycled and used as construction material.
- Contaminants are removed from gas streams so they do not vent into the atmosphere.
