BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Jan. 26, 2026) – On the heels of announcing a new president earlier this month, McWane today appointed Michael Gaston to the role of vice president, Fabricated Metals and Real Estate. In this position, Gaston will have operational oversight of Manchester Tank and Equipment Company and Amerex Corporation, as well as McWane’s commercial real estate venture.
Gaston joined McWane in 2018 and previously served as director of information technology integration with a focus on driving the integration and optimization of corporate-wide IT projects. Additionally, he served as a member of the Management Committee for the company’s commercial real estate venture where he assessed merger and acquisition opportunities.
Prior to joining McWane’s corporate team, Michael held multiple roles at Amerex Corporation where he was a distinguished leader in production, product management and continuous improvement.

Gaston spent nearly a decade in the energy industry prior to joining McWane, supporting Kinder Morgan, EP Energy and Southern Natural Gas.
Gaston earned a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of the rowing team. He also holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance and data analytics from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
