Manchester Tank Deemed “Essential Operation” Under CISA Guidance
We continue to closely monitor the rapidly evolving COVID-19 situation and want to provide you, our valued customers, with the following important updates:
On March 19th, 2020, the Department of Homeland Security’s, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA) issued a Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers Curing COVID-19 Response. The memorandum identified 16 industry sectors and workers “who conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability”. The guidance is important because it identifies those businesses the government deems critical to keeping the most fundamental goods and services in this country operational during the COVID-19 pandemic. Related to this, several states have also issued “shelter-in-place” orders over the past several days which have forced non-essential companies to cease operations.
The purpose of this bulletin is to confirm that Manchester Tank & Equipment has been deemed an “essential operation” and, as such, we continue to operate all North American plants, Distribution Centers and support functions. That said, Manchester Tank will continue to protect its employees to keep them as safe as possible while we are operational. We continue to require the same employee protections previously communicated (see, MTE press release dated March 16th). Further, for those jurisdictions with shelter-in-place orders, we have provided all necessary employees with “Essential Employee Travel Cards” to ensure they are able to get to and from work in a safe and timely manner.
We continue to work closely with our suppliers and logistics partners to ensure timely supply and service to our facilities. At this time, Manchester Tank has not experienced any significant disruption to its supply chain due to COVID-19. That said, the impact of the pandemic is fluid and we are monitoring the situation closely. We will notify you as soon as practical if we identify any potential supply chain interruptions.
