In September, Clow Valve sponsored a three-day Wellness Fair that combined education, employee resources and a healthy dose of fun, all with the goal of supporting team members and strengthening workplace culture.
Organized by Clow Valve Health, Safety, Environmental and Human Resources teams, the event featured a variety of booths and interactive sessions where employees from the Machine Shop and Metal Casting Facility could learn more about benefits offerings and wellness resources available to them. The fair offered something valuable for everyone.
The United Way, YMCA, Mahaska Health Partnership and Delta Dental were at the event to answer questions and provide helpful handouts. Stroke screenings, blood typing and chair massages were offered to employees, and Fidelity sent a representative to talk to individuals about their retirement plans and options. Quad City Safety manned tables with PPE options, as well as sponsored a fall protection demonstration. The Friends of Mahaska County had a recycling table, to remind everyone of their options in the community, and Cintas provided information on uniforms.
The event wasn't just about information, but connection. With good food, games and a prize raffle, the event reminded us that true wellness goes beyond the physical; it includes feeling supported, connected and informed.
A big thank you to everyone who helped organize, set up and participate in the event and to the Health, Safety, Environmental and Human Resources teams for leading the charge. Events like this are a reflection of The McWane Way, Strong Together.
