Synapse Wireless Promotes New Industrial-Focused Business Models; Predictive Maintenance and Improved Asset Utilization to be Demonstrated at Leading IoT Event
July 7, 2016
Platform for Things® Provider to Collaborate with Industry Leaders and bring Intelligent Industrial IoT Applications to Las Vegas
Norwalk, CT—June ##, 2016—TMC and Crossfire Media announced today that Huntsville, AL-based Synapse Wireless will demonstrate how transform traditional industrial-focused business practices into connected, intelligent industry 4.0 processes at the upcoming IoT Evolution Conference and Expo, being held July 11-14, 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. IoT Evolution Expo is directed at companies interested in understanding how to develop, integrate and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) strategies. Empowering the IoT, Synapse’s SNAP® Platform has become the go-to “sense-and-respond network” for industrial environments with their challenging and often cumbersome landscapes. SNAP’s low-power, scalable communications platform makes it easy to integrate network management across a wide, complex range of devices and has been successfully deployed in thousands of applications. Synapse will showcase their expertise at this event through onsite, live demonstrations and two speaking engagements.
“Retooling for the future is a never ending discussion that all companies face the day after they install their systems. The advantage of IoT is that it brings insights to innovation well beyond production,” said Carl Ford, CEO, Crossfire Media, Executive Director of Content, IoT Evolution. “The collaborative discussions and breadth of knowledge that Synapse has brought to this event highlights how innovation can transform manufacturing and industrial operations while integrating the best of breed ecosystem partners needed to implement successful IoT deployments.”
Synapse’s participation includes two speaking sessions and a booth, where they’ll be demonstrating a predictive maintenance solution powered by SNAP, which is fuelled by data aggregation and machine-learning analytics developed by Deloitte Digital and powered by the IoT platform ThingWorx™.
The application, demonstrated on an industrial motor, automatically aggregates and organizes machine-performance data in real time, providing a transparent view of system operations, including temperature, vibration and power consumption. The solution extends to allow businesses to predict major machine failures and outages and minimize the loss of production time associated with maintenance repairs, especially when applied to large-scale scenarios. This insight can also extend the life of machines, increase plant safety, and optimize spare-parts handling.
The themes of this demonstration will be carried into an onsite panel discussion to be held on Tuesday, July 12th at 2pm PST as part of IoT Evolutions’ Connected Home and Building Track. Speakers include Johnny Thorington, VP and GM, Core IoT Technology Solutions, Synapse Wireless; Dean Chinni, President and GM, Sigma Industrial Automation; Andy Timm, VP Technology Platform, ThingWorx; Thurman Keene, Director of Strategic Alliances, ServiceMax; and Isabel Chapman, Analyst at Machina Research.
Sigma Industrial Automation, a leading provider of food process control tools and customer of Synapse, will also be demonstrating their solutions within the same booth.
Synapse will also be hosting a discussion around the implementation of SNAP as it relates to a wireless lighting control application. SimplySNAP®, Synapse’s premier lighting solution, has won numerous awards for its innovative approach to reducing energy consumption and operational costs and has been recognized as being the only commercial wireless lighting control solution to provide functionality for both indoor and outdoor installations. This session, titled, “Lighting Controls:The Gateway to Smart Infrastructure” will be presented by Kathryn Caspar, VP & GM of Synapse Lighting Controls on Wednesday, July 13th at 3PM PST.
Synapse’s demonstrations will be in Booth #513 at the IoT Evolution Expo, which is supported by Super Sponsors, AT&T, (Diamond level); KORE (Platinum level); Eurotech and Ingenu (Gold level); and Corporate sponsors Artezio, Senet and SAS.
