Clow Canada Pipe Water Ladies Walk In Honor of Lost Friend Co-Worker

On March 5, 2013 we lost our friend Florence Boivin to a long battle with cancer. Florence was nearing her 10 year anniversary with Clow Canada and while we miss her job expertise, there is so much more to remember.  Her daily mid-morning "breakfast'; never ending supply of junk food, booming voice and laughter and finally her courage in facing her illness head on. Many of us in the Hamilton office knew Florence's son Calvin and he remains in our thoughts.

In honor of our friend, Florence Boivin, and in memory of many friends and family touched by cancer, several ladies from our Hamilton office joined to form "Clow Canada Pipe Water Ladies ” and walked a 5 km route in the Rankin Cancer Run in St. Catharine’s, Ontario on May 25, 2013. Among the 11,578 participants on a cool but sunny day, were cancer survivors wearing orange t-shirts.  In our small group there were three orange t-shirts. The combined efforts of runners and walkers raised $675,000 towards cancer research Niagara area.  The Water Ladies wish to thank everyone who made a donation, including co-worker s and our companies, raising our donation to $1,400.

Team members included Lisa Downs(Clow Canada), Chrisanne Driscoll (Clow Canada), IIona Toivonen (Clow Canada), Cheryl Knapman  (Clow Canada), Linda Hanson (Clow Canada), Cathy Hearnden  (Canada Pipe), Connie Verbeke (Clow Canada),, Sue McCann (Clow Canada),  Jennifer Lang (Clow Canada), Debbie Dunn (Clow Canada), Kathy Senior (Canada Pipe).
