Good housekeeping is an essential part of any safety and health program and at Atlantic States they realize that housekeeping is not just about cleanliness.  Poor housekeeping contributes to accidents by
hiding hazards that cause injuries, while effective housekeeping benefits the entire Team at Atlantic States.  Most everyone has a competitive spirit so Atlantic States decided to capitalize on that competitive spirit in their housekeeping program by creating the “Golden Pig Award”  The Golden Pig Award is a departmental award that they started in 2011 to recognize excellence in housekeeping.  Every month, based on random tours by senior management, they recognize the department that has the best level of housekeeping which is a fundamental building block of the safety culture at Atlantic States.

The Golden Pig is a symbol of housekeeping excellence – making what isn’t considered beautiful . . . beautiful.  We are proud to announce that the Shipping Department was the proud winner of the
Golden Pig Award for March.

Congratulations to everyone in the Atlantic States Shipping Department!  Keep up the good work.
