Pac States Team Member, Rod Taylor, Celebrates 40+ Years of Service

Rod Taylor’s career at Pacific States started on January 31, 1973. His first job was pouring iron, but he quickly transferred to the Cupola area where for the next 20+ years he managed to work all of the jobs in that area. He then transferred to Raw Materials switching railcars. During the early stages of his time in Raw Materials, his schedule was Tuesday through Saturday with Saturday’s spent working in the Storeroom. It was during his time in the Storeroom that Rod had the opportunity to train as a First Responder.

In 2000, Rod transferred to the Storeroom full-time, but in 2009 he transferred back to Raw Material as a Shear Operator. Rod is cross-trained and operates all the heavy equipment very well including, shear, material handler, front end loader, dump truck, and locomotive. He processes scrap pipe into cooling iron very quickly and is always cheerful and willing to do whatever is needed to get the job done.

Rod has served on the Safety Committee/VPP Committee for many years and safety is his top priority.

Rod has a very easy going temperament and is quick with a laugh. He loves to bowl and has been represented Pac States in a bowling league for many years.

Thank you Rod for your 40+ years of service and commitment! We’re proud and honored to have you as a member of the Team.
